Among the soloists who will perform this year at the Concorso 2Agosto Concert, there’s Antonella Rondinone, one of the most appreciated singers on the national and international stage. Antonella’s great ductility allows her to take on a lyric repertoire, as well as musicals and other genres that are not tied to the theatrical tradition.
Her voice and recitative skills have given to Antonella Rondinone the chance to perform 30 opera roles, the most important being “Mimì” in “La Boheme” by Puccini, “Tosca” by Puccini, “Donna Elvira” in “Don Giovanni” by Mozart, “Micaela” in “Carmen” by Bizet, “Nedda” in “Pagliacci” by Leoncavallo, “Helena” in “A midsummer night’s dream” by Britten, “Rita” by Donizetti, “Belinda” in “Dido and Aeneas” by H. Purcell.
She has sung in the most important Italian and foreign theatres: Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Auditorium of Lingotto in Torino, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro of Giglio in Lucca, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, La Commedie des Champs Elysees in Paris, Le Theatre de la Ville in Saint-Malo (France), Teatro Tartini in Pirano (Slovenja), Auditorium Municipal in Portimao and Auditorio Magno in Porto (Portugal).
In september 2015, Antonella Rondinone has sung with Josè Carreras, in Matera, for the first concert of Carreras world tour.
In may 2016, she’s been chosen for representing Italy in Japan, for “ITALIA, AMORE MIO”, for 150th anniversary of cooperation between Italy and Japan.
Her artistic path, as well as an opera singer, has been enriched with important experiences in the field of theatrical direction, as a natural growth for studies and theatrical and acting experiences that have enhanced her multifaceted artistic qualities.
She has been directed by G.Gelmetti, O. Leshmann, J. Webb, J. Tate, S. Mercurio, R. Marrone, S.A Reck, G. Carella, E. Boncompagni.
She has worked with the directors Franco Zeffirelli, Lindsay Kemp, M. Van Hoeke, M. Znaniecki, C. Alvirez, F. Tiezzi, M. Mirabella.
Antonella Rondinone often sings contemporary vocal music (Berio, Britten) with Collegium Musicum Bari, directed by R. Marrone.
She teaches Canto at the Conservatorio di Musica in Matera and collaborates regularly with the BSMT – Bernstein School of Musical Theater in Bologna.
