Francesco Maggio was born in Lecce (Italy).
He studied composition with Ivan Fedele and Giorgio Nottoli. He followed several masterclasses respectively with Sylvano Bussotti, Azio Corghi, Luis De Pablo, Toshio Hosokawa, Marco Stroppa. His works have been selected for the performance by Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Dissonart Ensemble, Orchestra Sinfonica Ico“T.Schipa” di Lecce, Orchestra Sinfonica Italiana, Roma Sinfonietta, Grupo de Musica Contemporanea de Lisboa, Quartetto Prometeo, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, Contempoartensemble, Ensemble musikFabrik, Vocalconsort Berlin, Minguet Quartett, Prague Modern, Andreas Fischer (Neue Vocalsolisten), Alessandro Carbonare, Andrea Pestalozza, ecc…
