The “2 August” Composing Competition mourns the death of Lidia Secci

The entire staff of the “2 August” Composing Competition join in the condolences for the passing of Lidia Secci.

Passing away in Terni at the age of 96, Lidia Secci was one of the founders of the Association of relatives of the Victims of the Massacre at Bologna Railway Station on 2 August, 1980.

Torquato Secci, her husband, was the first president of the Association, and it was under his guidance that the International Composing Competition was founded in 1994.

We report here the words of Paolo Bolognesi, current President of the Association: “A great sadness. In all these years she has made a precious contribution by assiduously taking part in the work of the board of directors of the Association. With her demise we lose one of the symbols of the search for the truth about the massacre of Bologna and all the massacres that our country has suffered. We aim to carry on that work, which started 40 years ago, with constancy”.

We offer our deepest condolences to your family in these painful circumstances.
